Join us for the Rogers Scholars Reunion...

...going back to The 80’s at The Center for Rural Development on August 2, 2008 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

Be sure to dress up in your best 80’s outfit!
We will have our own version of “80’s Idol”, an air guitar contest, 80’s fashion show and end the event by dancing the night away!

Dinner will be provided and prizes awarded!

Enjoy a day filled with music, food and socializing with your fellow Rogers Scholars at the Master Musicians Festival in Somerset! When you arrive at the front gate you will receive your free ticket and food voucher. Once inside, join us at The Rogers Scholars Reunion Tent. You must RSVP for this event so that we can put your name on a list at the ticket gate. RSVP to jmelton@centertech.com by July 11. If you would like to bring your family and friends with you they can purchase their tickets on line for $20 at www.mastermusiciansfestival.com or at the door for $25. Please feel free to bring your lawn chairs and blankets to sit on! We look forward to seeing you at the event !

Keeping in touch with other Rogers Scholars is an important step towards establishing a network of contacts that can provide many advantages for your future leadership and SAVE THE DATE!business endeavors. The best way to keep up with one another is to have an annual Rogers Scholars reunion----and that is what is going on take place at The Center for Rural Development on August 5, 2006-5-9pm!

The 2006 Rogers Scholars Reunion-----“Reliving the Memories” will take place at The Center for Rural Development! During this semi-formal event, we will be selecting additional Roger Scholars Ambassadors-----so if you would like to have a hand in working with the Rogers Scholars staff in planning the summer camps, upcoming reunions and many other events, this would be the perfect opportunity for you! We will take nominations during before dinner and announce the new officers at the end of the reunion.  The night will be filled with dancing, dinner and the opportunity to network with former scholars! Attire is Cocktail dress or Sunday Best!  Door prizes will be given away during the event!

We will take nominations during lunch and announce the new officers at the end of the reunion. After all the business has taken place…………………let the fun begin!

“Battle of the Scholars” will challenge you to compete against other scholars in fun and crazy games for Rogers Scholars dollars! The more money you win, the more prizes you will be able to buy at the end of the reunion. Among the prizes that will be included in this first ever Rogers Scholars Reunion Auction are an IPOD, portable DVD player and many, many more.

Rogers Scholars Recruiting Visits
Starting in September, we will begin the process of recruiting for The Class of 2009 Rogers Scholars. If you would like for us to speak to your class, group or organization and we have not been in contact with you, please feel free to contact us at jmelton@centertech.com or 606-677-6000.


2009 Rogers Scholars Dates
The 2009 Rogers Scholars program dates have been determined. Rogers Scholars will be held at The Center for Rural Development on June 28-July 3 and July 12-17. If you are applying for the program and have a preference on which week you would like to attend please make note of that on your application. Please let us know why you selected a specific week. We cannot guarantee which week students will be assigned but will make every effort to accommodate the needs of our applicants.


Reunion


Several graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program made a blast back to the past and re-visited “The 80’s” while attending the group’s annual reunion event. One of the highlights for the returning Scholars was the 80’s Singing Competition, returning Scholars had the chance to compete for great prizes by showing their talent on the microphone and belting out tunes from the 80’s. Another favorite event was the 80’s Fashion Show, where everyone paraded across the stage to show off their fabulous attire!
